Montefiore-Einstein Nursing Residency Program

The Montefiore-Einstein Nurse Residency Program provides new graduate registered nurses (RNs) the knowledge, skills and abilities to grow and thrive as they provide excellent patient and family care.

At the end of our program, nurses will be able to:

  • Transition from an advanced beginner to a competent professional nurse
  • Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills in their clinical judgment and performance
  • Become a contributing member of the interprofessional team, providing evidence-based care to our patients and families
  • Strengthen their commitment to the nursing profession and Montefiore-Einstein
  • Formulate an individual, professional development plan
  • Disseminate evidence-based practice recommendations that inform future projects

Program Curriculum

We have adopted a comprehensive curriculum designed by Vizient and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. Our program has 16 modules built upon the foundational knowledge obtained from undergraduate nursing education that focuses on leadership, patient outcomes and your professional role.

Target Audience

This program is designed and intended for newly registered nurses with less than 12 months of clinical experience.

Outcome Measures

  • Positive self-report on resident satisfaction and commitment to the profession and Montefiore-Einstein
  • Successful resident completion rate
