Continuing Medical Education
Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center (Einstein-Montefiore), Center for Continuing Professional Development (CCPD), formerly CCME, was founded in 1976. CCPD is accredited by the Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education (JA) to provide continuing medical education activities for healthcare professionals.
CCPD’s mission is to enhance patient care by bringing diagnostic and therapeutic innovations to the clinical environment through professional medical education for clinicians that maintains, develops, and increases their knowledge, skills, competence and performance. Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center is a Joint Accredited Provider and offers continuing education credit for the following professions: dentistry, medicine, nursing, optometry, pharmacy, PAs, psychology, and social work. The Einstein-Montefiore CCPD is committed to the utilization of resources for the advancement of continuing education (CE) throughout the clinician’s professional career.
Healthcare professionals and physician-scientists are lifelong learners, and are required to complete a determined number of CE credits within their specialty each year. The staff of Einstein-Montefiore CCPD coordinates grand rounds (RSS), workshops, seminars, and conferences at venues, nationally and internationally. Additionally, CCPD provides print and web-based enduring educational activities.
All educational activities undergo a content review by an Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center, Center for Continuing Professional Development designated peer reviewer and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Montefiore Medical Center, Center for Continuing Professional Development to ensure that educational content is fair-balanced, evidence-based, scientifically rigorous, and free of commercial bias.
The overall objective of the Center for Continuing Professional Development is to provide a comprehensive and far-reaching continuing interprofessional education program that delivers measurable positive changes in participants' knowledge, competence, performance, and behavior to continually improve quality and safety of care delivered by the healthcare team that results in improved patient care.
