The Cancer Center represents the strong partnership between Montefiore and our Albert Einstein College of Medicine, which allows for the translation of research and knowledge into improved prevention, diagnosis and treatment of all cancers.
Chiara’s Story
When Montefiore’s cancer specialists discovered Chiara’s agonizing leg pain was misdiagnosed, and, in fact, a rare form of bone cancer known as Ewing Sarcoma, her future at the Washington Ballet was put into question. Montefiore’s specialists not only treated Chiara, but paved the way for her triumphant return back to center stage.
Louanne’s Story
New York Yankees fan Louanne Mitchell dreamed of taking part in the team’s winter fantasy baseball camp. She was a picture of good health when she noticed a small bump on her leg that her dermatologist removed and sent out for routine testing. The results were shocking – metastatic malignant melanoma.

A study by Montefiore-Einstein researchers published in Clinical Genitourinary Cancer supports findings that the use of BCG Therapy correlated with a lowered risk for developing Alzheimer’s disease.
Montefiore Einstein Cancer Center’s Hematologic Malignancy Program was selected to be the first of its kind in the United States to treat relapsed or refractory mantle cell lymphoma using the innovative Kite’s TECARTUS™ CAR T-cell Therapy.
